An astronaut from the Earth arrives at the space station that orbits the planet Solaris. He is distressed by the recent and obscure death of his colleague. Mysterious presences populate the place. The astronaut will face the ghost of his wife, who died a few years ago. What can such apparitions mean? Are they real, or are they only the fruit of his imagination? Are they memories or the projection of his desires? And what is their connection to the thinking ocean that covers the planet? The representations of our fantasies appear to us more true than the reality. Absence becomes presence. What is lost forever returns to haunt us unceasingly.

In the Kingdom of Serendippo, King Deramo is looking for a wife among the daughters of the realm. Deramo advised by his two ministers, the enlightened Pantalone and the evil Tartaglia, is the holder of two magical secrets, revealed to him by the magician Durandarte. In a hunt in the woods of Roncislappe, the King naively reveals one of two secrets to Tartaglia, a magic formula that allows to move from one body to another. As Deramo shows the magic formula and enters the body of a deer, Tartaglia immediately repeats the spell and enters the body of the king. A magical exchange of bodies will follow, until the inevitable ending that rewards the good and punishes the wicked characters.
